Kruger NationalPark

is a South African National Park and one of the largest game reserves in Africa.  Areas of the park were first protected by the government of the South African Republic in 1898, and it became South Africa's first national park in 1926.

The park is part of the Kruger to Canyons Biosphere, an area designated by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as an International Man and Biosphere Reserve. The park has nine main gates allowing entrance to the different camps.
Kruger is not exempt from the threat of poaching that many other African countries have faced. Many poachers are in search of ivory from elephant tusks or rhino horns, which are similar in composition to human fingernails.

Will I be safe from wild animals at night?

Yes, you will be safe as long as you follow all the Park rules. Make sure you are at your booked camp before the gates close. Camps are closed and fenced off to safeguard against wildlife; an occasional monkey or baboon can be found roaming around in the Camp but they present no danger to you.
You are able to walk safely and freely within the boundaries of the camp at night.

What should you pack?

Light, cotton clothing in light tones
Long Sleeved Shirt and Trousers
A Good Pair of Trainers or Hiking Shoes
A Wide Brimmed Hat
Sunscreen
Sunglasses
A camera, charger and spare memory cards
A light weight flashlight
Medical kit
Anti-malarial
A good book
